Pipe Welding Level 2

This is an advanced welding class that focuses on pipe welding utilizing the SMAW and GTAW process. Students will learn the difference between AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Code requirements and ASME B31.3 Code pipe welding requirements.

Course Outline:

• 36 Hours hands-on applying welding principles and applications with SMAW and GTAW to pipe in different positions using 2" through 12" pipe. 
• 36 Hours applying SMAW equipment setup and applying welding principles.
• 36 Hours applying GTAW equyipment setup and applying welding procedures on pipe. 
• 36 Hours fine tuning the welding skills in uncomfortable positions. Pipefitting and tools used to locate pipe
• 144 Hours total of hands-on welding applications
• Prerequisite: students must pass 3G+4G test or pass Level 1 with 70% or better
